A VIRTUAL Experience. While our one day dance and prayer workshops normally take place at the Holy Spirit Retreat Center, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic this event will be conducted exclusively online via Zoom.
“Faith is a choice to trust God even when the road ahead seems uncertain.” (Dave Willis)
In times like this, we all HOPE that everything will be fine. Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
We may have an optimistic attitude based on our expectations, but as people of FAITH, we are confident and trust that God will be with us and see us through. It may be these hardest times that often lead to the greatest moments of our life. Come and explore through meditation, sharing and movement, an even deeper faith as we stand and dance together on the promises given to us.
This virtual workshop is open to all denominations and faith. We invite all: those who have only danced in their hearts, to those with more experience. Wear comfortable clothes to move with ease. If you have not used Zoom before, we assure you, it is simple and we will help you to sign in and follow along.
Leading the workshop are Stella Matsuda, Director, M.A.in Ed. CLU, B.S. in Dance, UCLA , Professor Emeritus, Moorpark College; and Marti Ryan, BA in Kinesiology (Dance), CSUN, MS in Guidance and Counseling, CLU, Certified Yoga instructor. Emmalyn Moreno will be opening the day with the “Chant to the Four Directions.“ The Alleluia Dance Theater incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1978. Our mission is to inspire and encourage people in their spiritual journeys through movement.
Registration is simple. Simply click on “Add to Cart” and then proceed to Checkout. You have three options for payment: your PayPal account; or any major credit card (no PayPal account required); or “Payment by check”.

ZOOM is the software that will allow everyone to participate together online — you can see, talk, and listen to everyone else simultaneously on your screen, as well as to the instructor. So you will need to have the ZOOM app installed on whatever device you plan to use prior to the event. (HOWEVER, you do not need to do that now. You can revisit this page anytime after you’ve registered and download the ZOOM app then.)
For laptops and desktops, click on the ZOOM button to the right which will redirect you to the Zoom website, then where you see the Zoom Client for Meetings, click on their Download button. DO NOT CLICK on their button labeled, “Sign Up, It’s Free” because you do NOT need to create a Zoom account in order to join a meeting (e.g. our workshop). For iPhones and iPads, click the Apple Store button; for Android devices, click the Google Play store button. The ZOOM Client is free to download and use.
IMPORTANT: You Do NOT need to Sign Up with Zoom in order to participate so again, ignore the “SIGN UP, IT’S FREE” button.
Don’t worry, we’ll be emailing participants with more details on the use of Zoom as we get closer to the event.
