Prayer of St. Francis God, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow your love; where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Our world is suffering — and we are suffering in it. Conflict throughout the world has divided nations, our nation, our families, and often our closest relationships. Yet through all these experiences God’s design is to give us strength to create a world of love, hope and peace.
Using the words of St. Francis, in music and movement, guided meditation, shared silence and group sharing we will create a path to increase our hope and solidarity within ourselves, for each other and for the world.
